Sahaya Therapy, LLC is a Psychotherapy and Counseling Telehealth service provider in the downtown area of Washington, DC. Immediate openings for DC licensed professionals who possess in the clinical profession (counseling, social work, psychology, or related field) or a master’s degree in related field strongly preferred. Strong knowledge of evidence-based therapy and counseling for adults with anxiety, depression, and traumatic challenges and experience providing individualized care. Experience working with couples, families, and adults from various socioeconomic backgrounds.


Provide individual and family counseling to adults in virtual and office settings. Provide short-term crisis intervention and management as warranted to adults who display risk factors and may benefit from connection to mental health services.

Please note: This job is typically performed in the office setting. As a result of Covid-19, this is temporarily performed 100% through telehealth. We will train the successful candidate on this modality.

Requirements: Must have MA Degree in a behavioral, social science, or psychology field and be culturally sensitive. NCC/LGSW/LGPC/Psych Associate. Also, must have a reliable mode of transportation and liability insurance.

Our staff specializes in offering Individual, Couples, Substance Use and Recovery Therapy to Individuals suffering from Anxiety, Mood Disorders, Substance use issues, Life transitions and co-occurring disorders. We are seeking multiple Individual and Group Addiction Therapists for our private practice in DC, eventually want to move into Maryland and Virginia.

Our best Group Therapists need to be more energetic, engaging, extroverted and sense of Humor. They are able to skillfully assess the group and adapt to help them move through to the next stage. They tend to also be better organized and easily able to be more directive to hold the cohesiveness of a group from start to finish (1-2 hours).


Our Addiction Therapists analyze clients, develop their treatment plans, provide individual or group therapy (each specializes in one of these) to be consistent with their treatment plans, and prepare clients for discharge. This role works independently with minimal supervision and collaboratively as part of an integrating team.

Our Addiction Therapists:

  • Are responsible for a set of assigned clients
  • Develop Master Treatment Plans plus review and edit them at least weekly
  • Attend weekly staffing, clinical meetings and other meetings as necessary
  • Individual: Using clinical judgment, select appropriate treatment modalities and carry them out in sessions
  • Group: Lead group therapy sessions. Develop or improve materials and topics for group therapy
  • Lead lectures and therapy sessions for client’s family members
  • Work cooperatively and collaboratively with all practitioners.
  • Work cooperatively with all levels of employees, management and external agencies
  • Do additional duties as assigned
  • Report directly to the Clinical Director or Supervisor
  • Knowledge of ASAM Criteria
  • Demonstrates patience and consideration in dealing with others
  • Demonstrates thoughtful decision-making
  • Ensures client confidentiality in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws and regulations
  • Maintains objectivity towards all clients and make clinical decisions based on accurate information.


  • Active state LPC, LCSW, LMFT, LMHC, LCADC, in the DC MD, VA area or equivalent licensure. 2+ years of experience in a clinical role preferred
  • UNLICENSED- if no licensure is established, must be under active supervision and able to submit documentation (may include meeting with Clinical Director for 1 hour/week to review caseload and provide evidence of state supervisor)
  • MS/MA or higher in Psychology, Counseling, Social Work or equivalent field
  • Experience in Chemical Dependency field preferred
  • Competency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Comfortable working with electronic health records
  • Excellent verbal and written communication
  • Personal passion or interest in substance abuse issues strongly preferred
  • Commitment to drug-free lifestyle and responsible alcohol use is essential
