Psychotherapy is most effective when there is open and honest communication between the therapist and client. This
collaborative process helps achieve individualized, meaningful outcomes. Our therapists are trained to guide clients with
empathy and expertise, but lasting change also requires consistency, participation, and commitment from the client.
Through psychotherapy, clients can reduce or manage distressing symptoms, enhance emotional well-being, strengthen relationships, gain insight into behavior patterns, and develop problem-solving skills—all leading to greater self-awareness,
healing, and life satisfaction.

ndividual therapy offers a one-on-one, confidential space for the therapist and client to explore thoughts, emotions, and behaviors in depth. Sessions typically last 50–60 minutes and are focused on understanding the client’s experiences while developing tools for growth and healing.
At Sahaya Therapy, we prioritize a collaborative, compassionate, and nonjudgmental approach. Our sessions stand out because
we emphasize:
1. Building rapport and clarifying expectations and goals for treatment.
2. Collecting relevant background information such as family history, childhood experiences, trauma, previous treatments,
and other contributing factors.
3. Using a “peeling the onion” strategy to address deep-rooted patterns, fostering new coping skills and healthier
behaviors.
4. Incorporating creative, experiential techniques to process emotions and uncover the root causes of current symptoms.
5. Maintaining focus on issues most relevant to each client’s goals.
6. Applying in-the-moment therapeutic tools that align with how the brain learns and expresses emotion.
These elements reflect the essence of our individualized, mindful, and client-centered approach at Sahaya Therapy.

Our couples therapy sessions focus on identifying and addressing patterns that create distress or disconnection within
relationships. We help partners develop healthier communication, strengthen emotional connection, and replace unhelpful

1. Intake Process:
Your journey begins with a phone call or email that our scheduler reviews. Clients are encouraged to complete pre-
registration on our website before scheduling. Once submitted, our administrative team verifies insurance, payment
information, and demographic details. You will be notified of any financial responsibilities prior to your first
appointment.
All sessions are currently conducted through a HIPAA-compliant telehealth platform. Messages and emails are
encrypted to ensure client confidentiality.
2. Initial Assessment:
The first clinical session is an in-depth information-gathering process. Your therapist will clarify administrative
questions (fees, co-pays, privacy practices, consent forms) and conduct a comprehensive psychosocial evaluation. This
includes discussion of family history, social relationships, employment, finances, prior treatment, and other life factors
that influence well-being. The assessment provides a complete clinical picture to guide diagnosis and treatment
planning.
3. Ongoing Sessions:
Treatment continues based on your diagnosis, goals, and progress. Your clinician will outline session frequency,
expectations, and the steps necessary to meet therapeutic objectives. Progress is regularly reviewed, and adjustments
are made collaboratively. When appropriate, sessions are gradually reduced to support independence and self-
sufficiency in maintaining growth outside therapy.

We value your time and strive to begin and end all sessions promptly. Clients are encouraged to arrive or log in on time for their
scheduled appointment. A brief grace period of 10 minutes will be considered for legitimate delays; however, please contact
your therapist as soon as possible if you anticipate being late.
At times, sessions may run slightly over due to clinical necessity. If this occurs, the therapist will plan to adjust or make up the
time appropriately. We kindly ask clients to wait quietly in the virtual waiting room, until the therapist is ready to begin.
